PFN Product Description:

PROXIMAL FEMUR INTRAMEDULLARY NAIL SET
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

  • Nails should be made of Ti6Al4V material with ISO 5832-3, ASTM F136 standards.
  • Locking Screws should be made of Titanium material in accordance with ISO 5832-3 and ASTM F136 standards.
  • The products manufactured by the manufacturer should have CE certificate.
  • Product surfaces should be colored and made passive against chemical corrosion by being subjected to oxidation with the anodizing method after polishing and processes in order to last long in the body
  • It should be suitable for the application according to the type of femoral trochanter.
  • The proximal part of the nail should be in a transverse structure to increase rotational stability and not cause Z effect.
The nail should have a 4 degree proximal valgus angle.
  • Post-op distal fractures and pain should be reduced to a minimum with the slot at the tip of the nail
  • The proximal part of the nail should be 16 mm (± 1 mm).
  • There should be a top screw.
  • The nails should be 9 - 10 - 11 - 12 mm in four different diameters and 3 different length options.
  • The lengths of the nails should be 180 mm, 200 mm and 220 mm.
  • The proximal holes of the nails should be suitable for sending screws at a 125° angle.
  • The nails should have a special external guide system for distal locking. The nails should have a special internal locking screw system for proximal locking.
  • The distal hole of the nails should be suitable for both dynamic and static locking and should be able to be sent through the same external guide.
  • The proximal locking of the nails should be done with a 10 - 11 mm diameter lag screw and a 7 mm diameter compression screw.
  • These two screws should be suitable for locking with each other; They should work by sliding on each other integrally, thus, compression should be made on the fracture area over the nail (maximum up to 10 mm).
  • The application set of the nail should be suitable for minimally invasive surgery. Reaming apparatus and tips should be available in the application set.
  • A flexible reamer should be available in the application set.
  • Distal locking screws should have a diameter of 5 mm and a length between 28 mm and 50 mm, and the dimensions should increase by 2 mm.
